The Wonder Years: Suburbia I’ve You All and Now I’m Nothing
The Wonder Years are back with one of the most anticipated albums in the pop punk realm. Suburbia I’ve Given You All and Now I’m Nothingis a baker’s dozen of the same ingredients that made you fall in love with them in the first place; that sense of not belonging that we all grew up with but tailored to an adult mentality. This time around they’re not sad anymore, but all about finding footing in suburban diners.
“My Life as a Pigeon” flies above the rest because of its unpredictable structure and delivery within the verses, but stays true to the “pop” in pop punk when the choruses kick in. Then you have “Summers in PA,” one that will make 80’s babies and Hot Topic shoppers happy with Outsider shout outs. Not only will it be a favorite because of that, but I sense many chest pieces involving the line, “kings of awkward situations” in our Warped future. Personally, because I’m a fat girl (think about it), of course “Hoodie Weather” made my “favs” playlist.
Suburbia I’ve You All and Now I’m Nothing streamed over on The Wonder Years site, but I know all their fans were good guys and gals and are waiting to buy it when it drops June 14th. So do just that and support a band that gives so much in their music for people to enjoy, oh…and of course, check them out on Warped Tour all summer long.
