The East coast has the Golden coast beat in many ways. They have seasons, the founding remnants of our nation’s history and a may I say, a richer music scene. It seems that all these good bands coming out right now are springing up on the Atlantic side, and American Verse happens to be one of them. Their latest Standard Emotions has a Saves The Day feel for a mature seeking crowd. While the rock is there with tracks like “All I Know” and its ear catching “I don’t give fuck,” I couldn’t help but gravitate towards the slow jams like “Game Frouz.” Its heart and passion stood out above the rest to make it one to play on a repeat.  So if you do like your rock with feeling and bands like Saves The Day and Two Tongues, then American Verse’s Standard Emotions is all for you.
